Didn't realize robotics was involved.
Ok so it’s not really robotics was required but when you own 3 900 series iRobot Roomba® vacs, and Braava® mSeries robot mop and 2 200 series robot mobs they do require a daily upkeep of being emptied and checked and maybe a biweekly basic break down and deeper cleaning. Not so much on the mop robots. Those are easier as one can just either get disposable mop pads or washable reusable ones. I guess the biggest question one might have is a) why or do I really need 3 robot vacuums and b) is it worth it. Two very good questions and I will explain my reasoning and let you be the judge on whether an iRobot vacuum is good for you.
Our full set. Three Roomba® 900 series vacuums, One Braava® m Series and two 200 Series mops.
Why 3 vacuums ? Granted at around 499.99 each having 1 let alone 3 may not be worth it for some but important things to consider are; Do you have multiple pets, or pets that shed or both? How big is your house, and is it all hardwood or solid floors ? For us, we have a relatively large 2 story house. Only carpet we have is on the stairs. For us we have 3 fluffy soft cats, and a dog. Between the fur dust balls and the traces of cat litter that they track the daily scheduled running of the robot vacuums work really well. We have the Roomba® split up into the 3 largest zones in the house. One based out of our master bedroom that takes care that room, the half of the hallway that is designed as a cat room and the master bathroom. The other two are split between the TV living room and the last is kitchen entry hallway and library. They run daily and cuts down on the floor dusting. The large m Series backs up the TV room vacuum while the 200 series are split between kitchen and upstairs room. Running the vacuums daily and the mops once or twice a week really helps manage with dust and basic animal fur and cat litter control.
So in this example it works. It would also work if you had a 1 bedroom apt with hardwood floors, by having one vacuum and a small 200 series mop to maintain the weekday upkeep while you’re away at work. Due note this by no means replaces a deep clean or a proper mop of your floors and dusting of higher items like book shelves and so forth but it makes for a quicker, lighter cleaning task.
