So you like things that fly…

Ever since I was a kid I’ve been fascinated with aviation. From middle school onward I started building large quantities of fine scale models of planes and hanging them from my ceiling with fish line. I wanted to be a naval aviator but life didn’t see it that way as I didn’t qualify due to some medical requirements. So I live my passion thru being an avid flight sim’er, model builder, spotter and photography. I would like to think I can one day get a private pilot license but its not in the deck of life priorities right now. Thus, I will share my passion here. Check back often for updates.

Boeing 777x

The new 777x aka 777-9 is the next gen wide body that expands on the triple seven design. It is also significantly bigger both in length and wingspan. It has a unique feature of folding wingtips so current airport gates can still accommodate the plane. As test flights continue I will try to capture this bird in action as much as I can.

Antonov AN-124

Dreamlifter is not the only big boy to visit KPAE. The Volga-Dnepr Airlines AN-124 makes less frequent but regular trips of 787 fuselages as well. It is a cold war relic that is still going loud and strong. A friend of mine said the crew fly it like they stole it and it sure get a lot of cargo to its destinations really fast.

The Dreamlifter

Being just under 30 min to KPAE I have the rare opportunity to capture the large beauty in action on a regular basis. It’s is a beautiful sight every time. I try to catch it at different times, conditions and actions

Seafair in Seattle, WA is a regular stop for the Blue Angles and other aviation displays. Last year I decided to seek them out from a different perspective at KBFI where they stage for the week.
